Excellent Card for Gaming or Vids
- Pros: Great Video-use 7.3 Catalyst Driver for HDMI. Runs mp4 h264 at good speed. Used for Star Wars BF II no lag, 2X AA, pretty high settings and kicks at stock core clocks. Includes both mounting brackets.
- Cons: none yet... High temps may be true for fan cooling.
- Other Thoughts: I need to try more games to give a more thorough review.
A very nice card
- Pros: The card puts forth very nice video and audio. Please see below, the card works great when properly installed and connected via. SPDIF out puts and inputs on the card. The owners responsibility is to get your computer to recognize and use it. Thank you Newegg for your outstanding and speedy service replacing my card. This card works great.
- Cons: Some say it runs hot. It may run warm, however I am not pushing it with in depth games.
- Other Thoughts: First I would like to thank Newegg for there excellent service. The first card I had was apparently defective.
To the party with the audio question. No this is not an audio card, it is a video card and one must have a SPDIF out put and connect the same to the SPDIF in put on the card. There are no instructions for setting up the card. Inquiries to Sapphire were in vain, as the tech told me the SPDIF connection on the card was an out put. No help from them. How does a video card have audio out put. Inquiries to ATI were also in vain, the tech there told me the card with the connection made between SPDIF out and the SPDIF in put would not produce audio through a HDMI cable. For what it's worth, with the proper equipment and the proper connections to the card, the audio is outstanding on my 55" widescreen tv. Any comments I had made below about the card was due to a faulty card and total lack of knowledge about the same from the manufacture as well as others involved with the same.
Is that SPDIF for audio in?
- Pros: HDMI
- Cons: not a 1900 series, or DX10
- Other Thoughts: I doubt that this is an audio card, so my guess is that the SPDIF port is an input so you can get sound for your HDMI out. Info is lacking, anyone out there have one know for sure?
